Production Manager
We are looking for a Production Manager to join our Production & Technical Team. You’ll oversee the technical planning and delivery of productions, performances, events and hires across BAC, working on a range of projects and spaces.
You’ll work with artists, visiting companies and internal teams to plan technical requirements, coordinating technicians and suppliers, and manage production schedules, budgets and health and safety. You’ll also provide hands-on technical support across our venues, helping projects run safely and smoothly from planning through to delivery.
We can provide a BSL interpreter if required.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a production and technical environment.
- Experience delivering productions, events or projects from planning through to delivery.
- Experience leading fit-ups, technical rehearsals, performances and get-outs.
- Experience managing budgets and production expenditure.
- Experience supervising technicians, freelancers or casual crew.
- Experience producing production schedules, risk assessments and technical documentation.
- Experience working with artists, visiting companies or clients.
- Good knowledge of theatre and event production techniques across lighting, sound, AV and staging.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Knowledge of production management processes, scheduling and resource planning.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and technical drawings.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation including PUWER, COSHH, LOLER, and CDM.
- Knowledge of rigging techniques and safe working practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the production and technical delivery of small to medium-scale productions, events, hires, conferences and performances across BAC’s venues.
- Support the Senior Production Manager on large-scale, complex and multi-space projects.
- Cost, advance, plan and deliver projects from enquiry through to completion.
- Lead on venue layouts, technical planning and event logistics for assigned projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on budget and to a high standard.
- Provide production management support across BAC’s wider programme and commercial activity.
- Apply practical technical knowledge across lighting, sound, AV, staging and production systems.
- As required, programme lighting boards and operate show cues during events.
- Support the management and maintenance of technical equipment and production resources.
- Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements and technical documentation.
