We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Technical Theatre Manager to lead the technical operations of our esteemed venue. This role involves overseeing all aspects of stage management, lighting, sound, and projection to ensure seamless delivery of live performances and film screenings.

Manage the day to day technical operations of the Electric Palace. This is very much a hands on role, we are a small team all with a can do attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, supervise and operate equipment to ensure it functions correctly for each performance or event
  • Manage stage setup, including lighting, sound, video projection, and multimedia elements in accordance with production requirements
  • Assist in delivery of film & screenings programme (DCP/Blu ray)
  • Oversee maintenance and operation of theatre technology equipment such as lighting consoles (Chamsys Magic1q 5), sound desk (Digico SD9) and projectors (Barco + DCP system)
  • Train and supervise technical staff
  • Organise external technicians and kit where required
  • Maintain comprehensive records of equipment maintenance, inventory, and technical procedures

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience (10 years +) in technical theatre management with a strong understanding of stagecraft
  • Proficiency in MS packages (Word, Excel) and QLab
  • Knowledge of lighting design principles, sound engineering, and digital projection systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues swiftly and effectively during live performances
  • Maintain a high standard of health & safety requirements (incl COSHH) and to keep updated with latest legislation and in house policies and procedures
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with creative teams and staff
  • Experience negotiating hire/purchase of equipment
  • Ideally PAT testing qualification or experience
